Let’s be honest. We all know the best part of any work day is lunch, that beautiful time we can step away from our desks and refuel. When the gang gets hungry, we don’t go just anywhere to chow down. Luckily, our office is just steps away from some of the best lunch spots in the city. So, we decided to share what we eat at our favorite places when it’s time for some afternoon grub.
Although the commute is long (we’re only kidding, it’s about 30 seconds away), our Co-Founder Stefanie dines at one of the neighborhood’s newest hot spots, Casalinga. Her go-to lunch order is their Turkey Tip Sandwich with marinated tips, provolone, and all the best sandwich fixings on a seriously amazing homemade sub roll.
Our Co-Founder Oz keeps it healthy. Across from the Government Center T stop is his favorite vegan eatery, Cocobeet, where he munches on their Avocado & Chickpea Hummus Toast. Topped with tomatoes, herbs, and tons of avocado, he forgets he’s even eating healthy.
Right around noon you’ll fine our Content Specialist Colin just steps away on Salem Street. Monica’s Mercato serves him a Classic Italian Sub with all the good stuff on homemade bread.
Hidden on a North End side street is Tenoch, a favorite of our Digital Ad Manager, Carmen. While the tacos and quesadillas this traditional Mexican joint offers are great, she bypasses the standards and goes straight for the Asada Torta. This homemade Mexican sandwich includes avocado, steak, beans, and jalapeño, just to name a few ingredients.
Located inside our neighbor, the Boston Public Market, is Beantown Pastrami. Our Digital Ad Manager, Stephen, can’t get enough of this small sandwich stand, so we see him sneak off there at least once a week. He orders the Haymarket Special, a pastrami sandwich with horseradish, coleslaw, and cheddar.
Tucked away in between the edges of Faneuil Hall and Boston’s financial district is our favorite Greek spot, Zo. After strategically timing her approach to avoid the frequent lunch line that wraps around the street, our SEO Manager Mercedez orders their original Gyro. It’s filled with slow roasted pork, tomato, onion, and tzatziki sauce.
A short walk to Oliver street has our Business Development Executive, Ali, feeling spicy. He fills up on a Steak Burrito Grande from Sabroso Taqueria , jam packed with cheese, rice, beans, pico de gallo, hot sauce, crema, guacamole and steak. We also make sure to check in with Ali after this massive meal to ensure he’s not napping.
Before she hits her hangry point, our Social Media and Content Manager, Caitlyn, makes her way to the North End. Her favorite local sub shop Pauli’s has just about everything, but she sticks to their Prosciutto Classico Sub, a classic sandwich of mozzarella, prosciutto, tomato and basil.
What else has the gang been up to? Check out all of our spicy adventures in the office and beyond!
